mail to customer is not send?

Hi, I have the shop succesfully working with Paypal, only if I set it as following:

Type: Other website payement (Default does not work !)

Only: I get a message as admin, but not as customer (I bought my own books ;-)
What could be wrong?

Configuration>Checkout there is the option "PDF invoice to the customer"

Make sure it's ticked.

it is, but still doesn't work :-)

also: why isn't the 'default' setting working and what is the difference between? (can i find a mnual here somehow?)

Make sure you've entered admin email in Config>General

Also please double check the following settings are correct:

Options>Payments>Paypal>Config
Verify data after PayPal RETURN - No
