Product Size

I sell products which all have different sizes
An example of a product size is like "25w x 35h mm"
I have tried everything to find a free text option to enter the product size for each item
I have tried characteristics and attributes with no luck
Can you please offer me some advise as to how I can enter the size as a dropdown option will not work
Currently I am forced to enter the size in the description field
It would be ideal if I could use a dedicated field called size

I did a shop that does something similar - sizes of mattresses. I did it all using attributes. A pain to build but looks fine. test it http://matratzenland.ch/schlafen/matratzen/pocket-relax here

'Grösse' means 'Size'. It's an attribute.

your answer will work I understand
it would probably work better in characteristics
however I currently have over 300 different size combinations
it would mean I would need to set up each size combination as a characteristic

Yes, it is a set size not a choice so if you want this to be in the 'extra fileds' area you'll have to add as a characteristic.

some good news for me and I wanted to pass on
now in characheristics we can have enter text
in other words where you have thousands of items and they are all different sizes you simply can use this option
