Substitute the word TAX with VAT

Well all is done, site is live, first sale made!

Just got one last silly little issue left to resolve

It says the word TAX throughtout the cart and checkout, how do I change this to the word VAT.

Sorry I know this is simple but I have looked everywhere.

Your help would be much appreciated

Located in

root/components/com_jshopping/lang/en_GB.php

VAT is listed at line 249 but you may want to make it less American by substituting any others.

Not sure how au fait you are php so only change the right hand instance of the word TAX on a line.

As always make sure you have current backup before making any changes.

I am new to editing php. So I downloaded Notepad++ bought the file down and edited line 249 but this has not worked. My web site is still showing the word TAX and not VAT so I must being doing something wrong.

I have rechecked and line 249 now reads as follows

define('_JSHOP_VAT', 'VAT');

Have I done this right?

That's okay Colin.

I'm no php programmer either and shy away from touching it wherever possible.

There are others that you might want to change. Remember only to change the one on the right...
and make a local copy of the file before you change anything so that if it does go wrong you can restore it.

Do a search for them using notepad++

On mine it's the following lines (numbers may not be absolutely correct for you but they will be close - just look for tax)

332
369
370
375

I think that is all. Load the file back up by ftp and it should have changed all instances of tax to VAT. Clear browser cache before checking.
