How to make a link to the cart in the template?

I've figured out how to make a link to the cart using standard menu items. It's quite easy indeed.
But my goal is to make a certain element (let's say a picture) a link to the cart and have it displayed in the main content area afterwards.

I have no idea what kind of url I have to specify to make that possible. Is there a way to help me out?
