Register required fields highlighting

Hi,

how is it possible to highlight required fields if a user dont input content into it?
Currently only the field will be focused and courser inserted but how can be the field shown i.e. red colour?

i found out if a user click "next" and a required field isnt entered the joomla script change the css class of the input boxes to "inputbox fielderror" but and where i have do define the colour for this "error class"?
