Currency Symbol not showing

Hi.

Having struggled to remove the Eur currency symbol which no longer shows, I cannot get the currency symbol I would now like, (£), to display. I have created £ as a currency and set it to default but the symbol does not show in the front end, only the price.

I would greatly appreciate your help on this.

i also battled with this. go through the config and make sure your default country is elected everywhere. then under currency, make sure you have the currency you want to use set to default. also change your default currency's exchange rate to 0.000 and the euro one to whatever the exchange rate is for pounds. i even went so far as to unpublish euro.

Thank you very much for your help. Not quite there yet though.

I have been through as you specified and changed the required settings. It won't let me change the exchange rate to 0.00, it has to be 1.00 or greater so I have left it at 1.00.

Just to clarify, in the front end I get a figure (ie, the price) but not a currency. So it shows '75.00' rather than '£75.00'

Sorry I meant 1.00!!

Ti will show the currency symbol after the amount unfortunately. You'll probably have to find the variable in the template somehwere that calls the currency and put it in front of the amount.

I haven't reached that point yet, can't even get my site to work and not getting any help either :(

Hi Jack,

Apparently it will show the currency symbol in front of the amount. Go to Configuration, then Currency. The 5th option down is called Format and is a drop down which allows you to change the order of the price and symbol.

which version are you using?
i'm using joomla 1.6.1 and updated to version 3.1.0 and now my site is completely buggered.
at first only the registration button would not work, but now the layout and everything is broken.
