Free products -> set order to paid automatically

I want to offer free 'sample' downloads in my shop.
How do I configure the component to set orders to paid if the product is free?

I've set the product and shipping to 0, but the order will sit on 'pending' and the customer will not be able to download the product immediately.

Is there a solution for this?
