No confirmation email is sent after registration

Hi,

Does anyone know why sometimes a confirmation email is not sent after registration? The email does not disappear in the 'unwanted email box'. When I test the registration, it works fine in FireFox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. However, when others try this, confirmation emails are sometimes not sent from registration in Google Chrome.

What could be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

What should the email configuration be? It is now php-mail, sendmail path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.

I'm using joomla 2.5 and joomshopping 3.18. I need some configurations like.

No activation is needed for admin. The user may login right after finishing the registration.
The user will receive an e-mail message containing a link with a token to activate their account.

After the user's e-mail address has been verified, all users with the Receive System Messages option enabled will receive an e-mail message notifying them that a user has verified their e-mail address and requests that their account be activated.
