single product in more than one category

Is it possible to assign a single product to more than one category ?

I tried to select more than one category in the product area management in the backend of ---------, but this don't work.

I want to add those products to more than one category because i want to create two categories of products that are going to be displayed on some product-sliders (that use the product category as "root" where take the products to slide)
