Hi all,
I bought the Authorize.net component, but there are no instructions. What is the difference between Type=simple and Type=extended?

I have auth.net account setup in test mode
I have entered Login ID and Transaction key into the config tab and saved it.

I have the Testserver = Yes and the testmode = yes in the config tab
When I test the frontend I get this...

(TESTMODE) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.


Is this expected behavior?

I have recopied and pasted both the ID and Key to make sure that they are entered properly with no leading or trailing spaces but I keep getting the same response.

Please point me in the right direction.

Why am I getting "The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive."

I need to get this live. But if I can't test it how do I know if it is going to work?

login and password invalid


I have triple check the login and it is correct.

There is NO field for PASSWORD, but there is a field for
Transaction Key, and that is correct (I checked 3 times)

Maybe the password field is missing???

I figured if I paid for this it should work!!!

OK, I found this at the Authorize.net site....

Note: If you are integrating your website with Advanced Integration Method (AIM) using PHP, please be aware that the gateway URL is listed twice--once in the cURL configuration, and once again in the main body of the code. Using the test gateway URL in the cURL section of the code will create an Error 13 as cURL would connect to the incorrect server.

The AIM code I purchased will definitely set the cURL configuration to the WRONG site!

So the easy way to fix this is to NEVER use the Admin option for TEST SERVER.. (set it to NO, if set to YES it will ALWAYS generate the error above)

The TEST MODE can be set to YES and THEN it works!

Or you can set the TEST MODE to NO but be sure your Authorize.net merchant account is in test mode.

And there is absolutely NO explanation of the use of the admin "Type" field choice="Simple"|"Extended".

I hope this helps everybody else that has struggled with this!
