Extensions only on this domain?

Hello,

I would like to buy an extension. In the shop I have to enter on wich domain i want to use it.

In this project i have to relounge an already existing website.
I'm creating the site now unter anoter domain... The main domain will only chance when the site is ready. Can i test the plugin on my testdomain?? Or checks the plugin on witch domain the site is running?
