Joomshopping Modules: Filter by letters

Help the customer find a product instantly — the module prints a row of alphabet letters above the product list; clicking a letter filters the products whose name starts with it, without reloading the category template.

Features

• The alphabet row is built from the localised string _JSHOP_LIST_OF_LETTERS (site language) — the row can be fully localised for Cyrillic or Latin
• A configurable number of letters per row (countLettersInRow, 6 by default, 1 at minimum) — fits the width of any template
• A reset button for the filter — can be shown or hidden (showReset)
• An explanatory text above the letter row — can be shown or hidden (showDescription)
• A "search through all products" mode (searchInAllProducts) — the filter leads to the general product list instead of the current category, manufacturer or vendor
• Smart context detection: the module keeps the letter filter while browsing a category, a manufacturer or a vendor, building the link from the current URL
• Support for a custom module layout (the standard Joomla layout field)
• Server-side filtering through the jshoppingproducts system plugin: the letter is added to the SQL condition (LIKE 'letter%') on the product name in the shop language — the filtering happens at the database query level, not on the client
• The module ships its own style.css for styling the letter table

Main settings

Configured in the module parameters:

• Reset button — show the filter reset button
• Show description — print a description above the filter
• Search through all products — search the whole shop instead of the current category only
• Letters per line — how many letters are printed per row (1 at minimum)
