Joomshopping Payments: Payment Skrill / Moneybookers gateway

Accept payments through Skrill (formerly Moneybookers) — wallet, credit cards and local payment methods on a single Quick Checkout page.

The addon adds Skrill Quick Checkout as a payment method in JoomShopping. Once the order is placed, the customer is automatically redirected to Skrill's secure payment page, and after the payment the shop receives a notification (IPN) from Skrill and updates the order status on its own — no manual reconciliation by the administrator. The exact set of payment methods available to your customers is determined by your Skrill merchant account.

Features

• Automatic redirect of the customer to the Skrill Quick Checkout payment page right after the order is placed
• Server-side payment verification against the Skrill notification (IPN): order total, currency, recipient payment email and order number are all checked — a payment with tampered data will never confirm the order
• md5sig signature validation using the Secret Word — proof that the notification really came from Skrill and was not forged
• Automatic order status change based on the payment result: separate statuses for successful, pending and failed payments, each picked by the administrator from the shop's own status list
• All Skrill transaction states are recognised: paid, processing, cancelled by the customer, declined, chargeback
• Every non-standard event (pending, cancellation, decline, chargeback, signature check failure) is written to the shop's payment.log together with the order number — convenient for investigating disputed payments
• The language of the Skrill payment page is set automatically from the site language — 33 Skrill interface languages are supported, with English used as a fallback when there is no match
• The shop name is passed to Skrill and shown to the customer on the payment page as the payment recipient
• The order number is passed to Skrill as the transaction identifier and appears in the merchant account statement — matching orders to payments is straightforward
• Correct handling of the customer's return to the shop in all three scenarios: successful payment, cancelled payment and the background notification

Settings

• Payment email (Skrill merchant account) — the email address of your Skrill merchant account that receives the payments
• Merchant ID (Customer ID) — the customer identifier from your Skrill account, used in the notification signature check
• Skrill Secret Word — the secret word from your Skrill account settings (Settings → Developer Settings), used to verify the authenticity of notifications

Technical notes

• The Skrill Secret Word must be set in the Skrill account itself beforehand. If it is left empty, the signature check falls back to a simplified scheme without the secret word — filling it in is strongly recommended
• To receive payment notifications, the shop page must be reachable by Skrill's servers from the outside, without password protection or IP restrictions
