Joomshopping Templates +: Rich snippets (Structured Data)

Your products in Google search results — with rating stars, price and availability. The plugin adds schema.org structured data in JSON-LD format (Rich snippets / Structured Data) to the product page: name, description, image, price, currency, availability, SKU, manufacturer, plus the customer rating and reviews.

The markup is generated automatically from your JoomShopping data and printed into a <script type="application/ld+json"> block in the source code of the product page — nothing has to be filled in by hand. The plugin hooks into the onBeforeDisplayProduct event, which means it requires no override of the product detail template (unlike the older microdata versions of this addon) and works with any product layout.

Features

• JSON-LD format — Google's recommended way of delivering structured data; the markup is kept separate from your HTML and does not break when you change the template
• Product type with all the key properties: name, description, image, sku, mpn, offers, brand
• The price is taken already calculated (product_price_calculate) — including tax and discounts, rounded to 2 decimals; the currency is filled in from the shop's currency ISO code
• Availability (availability) is derived from real stock data: InStock / OutOfStock, taking into account the stock quantity, the "unlimited product" flag and whether stock control is enabled in JoomShopping at all
• The product link inside the offers block is built as an absolute SEF URL
• sku — the product EAN, mpn — the manufacturer code
• The brand block is added automatically whenever a manufacturer is assigned to the product
• aggregateRating block — average rating, number of reviews, best and worst rating; the best rating value is taken from the JoomShopping max_mark setting
• review block — the latest review of the product: rating, author, date, text
• Rating and reviews are only output if product reviews are enabled in JoomShopping and the product actually has at least one review — otherwise Google would receive invalid markup
• Multilingual: the description is read from the field of the shop's current language, HTML tags are stripped
• Description source and image size are configurable — no code changes needed

• Description source (description_source) — which product field to use for the description property: Description (full description, default) or Short description
• Image size (image_size) — which product image to pass into the image property: Thumbnail (thumb_name.png), Middle (name.png) or Full (full_name.png); default is Thumbnail
